The Honeywell HCM-630 Cool-Moisture Humidifier is ideal for living rooms and other larger rooms, providing 3 gallons of output per day for rooms up to 1050 square feet. This particular model is 30 percent quieter than other tower models as its fan blows out moisture-balanced air into the room. It is equipped with an antimicrobial-treated filter that helps prevent fungus, mold, bacteria, and algae growth, which then leads to fresher, cleaner mist as well as an extended filter life. The Honeywell HCM-630 also has a Protec Continuous Cleaning cartridge designed to reduce mineral build-up.

With a compact body style, this humidifier is great for those looking to improve their quality of life without compromising space. A word of advice with this model, though, is that after filling the water tank, be sure that it is fit onto the base just right; otherwise, the tank valve won’t open and the water, therefore, won’t drain into the base. So if you don’t hear the telltale “gurgle,” just jostle the tank a bit. The biggest selling point of this machine, though, is the fact that it comes with a 5-year warranty!

One thing to keep in mind whenever using a humidifier is the type of tap water you have. Almost all humidifiers are tap water safe; however, the harder your tap water, the more white-dust buildup you will get in the room as well as inside the humidifier. If this happens, simply switch to filtered or distilled water.
